I've started the January Flower and have planned on sewing each month's flower onto an afghan made from monk's cloth. Progress so far - I've prepared the monk's cloth by using a straight stitch about an inch in from the edge - removing threads to create the fringe ,washing and drying it. It will shrink so if you decide to go this route. I would suggest getting maybe 8 -10 inches(or your best judgement) more than your actual size for an afghan. This piece before washing was a yard and a half.
Sept. 19th 2016 - I didn't get to stitch yesterday evening so I'm catching up this evening.... progress so far.
Sept. 20th 2016 - Update-
Sept 24th 2016. I got a little more stitching done. Just 1 more bloom at the bottom right corner and this will be finished.
9-27-2016 Update..... After I finish January I'll start on Feb. Flower. 1 more color to go on this one.
9-28-2016 and we have a FINISH. Woohoo January Flower complete. Kitting up February, chart printed and off we go tomorrow.
Hoping everyone has a good stitching evening! Happy Stitching! ~ C's Cross Stitch Creations ~
Looking forward to seeing your progress on the SAL. If I didn't have so many pieces going at this time, I'd join you. I'm determined to finish all that I've started before I start another new though.
ReplyDeleteHope to become good friends. You stitch beautifully.
Thank you Miss LindaLee. It is perfectly ok that you can't join at this time. I may have another sometime next year if I can find anything interesting :) I hope that we become good friends as well. Happy Stitching!
DeleteGreetings! I'd LOVE to join you in the SAL.....just need to get out the fabric and get myself started. I'll post when I have January done - and I'll post about the SAL on my blog, too. AWESOME!
