Patriotic Stitching

** UPDATE**  6-24-18.
Hello All, :) time for an update, I've been working on a small pattern called Lady Liberty 1776 by Primitive Stitchin'
You can find the patterns at the above link. I also have Uncle Sam 1776 I'll be stitching as well.
For this I found the Osnaburg linen at my local craft store on sale for $3.49USD a yard , While it's a nice soft linen to work on, this piece I picked up is kind of fuzzy is all I can say, some of it comes off as you are stitching but some gets caught under the stitches. I'm using DMC colors with one change. I'll use DMC Diamante in Black&Gold for the flower pot and her crown. I am stitching this 1 over 2. Working with DMC Diamante is like working with 1 strand of the DMC Light Effects. It isn't hard for me to work with them when I use short strands. It doesn't snag or pull bad when you are stitching with it like the Light Effects do at times.

I also have another to add to my Patriotic Stitching called Patriotic Home by Homespun Elegance. The one I will be stitching I believe was just an exclusive design for a Facebook group I am in. But she does have a couple of Freebies on her Blog I can share the links too.
Freebie 1
Freebie 2
Freebie 3
She has an Etsy shop to so go have a look, there's lots of beautiful designs there.  Homespun Elegance

Hello All,

I hope this finds everyone doing well. There's still issues with NO email notifications going thru, seems to have started back in May so please hang in there with me until this all gets straighten out by Blogger and Google. **ISSUES FIXED**

Now onto some patriotic stitching I've been doing. I was going thru my computer and come up on some freebies I had saved to be stitched later,, well it's kind of later now lol

First up is " Liberty " by Lizzie Kate
You can find it here at  Lizzie kate Freebies
almost at the bottom of the page

For this I chose an 18 count scrap of Aida natural color by Charles Craft and used DMC Perle Cotton #5 ( which I done with a tent stitch as it's a little chunky looking which I like for this piece), Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe- Faded Marigold for the stars
in the following colors - #5-  221 replaced Sampler Threads Buckeye Scarlet - DMC 498
                                        #5 - 930 replaced Sampler Threads Midnight  - DMC 930
                                        #5-  712 replaced  Sampler Threads Oatmeal  - DMC 712
The stars were stitched with Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe - Faded Marigold which replaced Sampler Threads Gold Leaf- DMC 729

Up next on my list is a previous stitch( found on Amazon) by Just Nan called Liberty Homeland Angel link here : Liberty - Homeland Angel. I've set her in a bowl I covered in fabric using Mod Podge along with a bow and Red, White and Blue Roses as they are one of my favorite flowers. She will be joined by 2 more angels I found called Grace 2002 Angel and Serena 2003 Angel by Thea Dueck of The Victoria Sampler found on her site The Victoria Sampler
She has lots of beautiful patterns that I plan on stitching later on. Notably the Angels, may just have to make a bowl full of angels soon.

Next up I'll be stitching a freebie by Sandra Longan called America America. You can find it on her blog search for Freebies. I just found her blog and have subscribed so please go read her blog and if you enjoy it as much as I do please subscribe :) Stitchin' & Life in a Small Town

I have chosen another small scrap piece of Aida 14 count Parchment color with called for DMC colors.

Until next time...
Happy Stitching and May you have smokin' needles...xxx
